Our wheel thrown pottery is made locally in Pulborough by skilled potter Tina Bowbrick and wood-fired in a home-built kiln.
When nearly dry each piece is simply decorated, allowing the kiln flames and ash to give each piece its own unique character.
Some pieces have slips made from locally dug clays, which are allowed to dry and are then glazed using home-made recipes. Many of these are made using wood ash reclaimed from the kiln, washed, sieved and mixed with other ingredients.
When fully dry the pieces are fired in a 'fastfire' kiln for 18 to 21 hours until we reach temperatures between 1300 – 1310°C.
Please note that each piece is unique and may vary from those shown.
